What is trending audio?
Trending audio can be music tracks, snippets from popular movies or TV shows, or even sound bites from celebrity interviews. Audio starts trending based on pop culture and what online creators are posting. (We’ve all seen plenty of reels using Taylor Swift songs and quotes from The Office, right?)
Since trending sounds influence user-generated videos and become associated with specific trends, challenges, or memes, Instagram and TikTok take them seriously when ranking content. So, using relevant audio can help increase reach and engagement on social media.

| 8 | Original audio aka the “what if we just” trend | We love how @birdandjim uses this audio to turn a simple idea into a mini adventure. The trend works because it feels spontaneous and inviting, making it perfect for travel, lifestyle, behind-the-scenes content, or those “what if we just tried this?” moments with your brand. |
| 9 | Original audio aka the “let’s do it” trend | @flourandspiceblog uses this trending audio perfectly by pairing it with a recipe she’s creating. This sound is great for showing a process, a new idea, or something you’re excited to make happen. Brands can use it for launches, new products, experiments, or those “okay, we’re finally doing this” moments. |
| 10 | Original audio aka the “Describe your job, but make it sound illegal” trend | We are still LOVING this trend. People are overlaying text that describes their job in the most suspicious way possible, and @dr_saami absolutely nails the format. Social media managers, you could try something like: "I monitor thousands of people daily and study their behaviour," or "I make my coworkers stand in front of a camera, then distribute the footage across the internet." The more technically true and vaguely concerning it sounds, the better. |
| 11 | TikToks: | |
| 12 | Original sound aka the “Okay, wow, first thought, transcending the game” trend | This trend is all about discovering something so good you immediately need to share it – and @lunapoprocks shows how simple the format can be. It’s a great fit for highlighting products, features, campaigns, tools, or anything your audience needs to know about. |
| 13 | Original sound - House of Highlights aka “FIFA 2026” | The World Cup is here, and content around the new @houseofhiglights song is starting to pick up. Even if you're not a sports brand, this is one of those cultural moments worth paying attention to. You can use the audio for team content, predictions, office rivalries, or simply to tap into the excitement that's building ahead of the tournament. |
| 14 | Say You Do (feat. Imani Williams & DJ Fresh) trending audio | The new season of Love Island is officially underway, which means the internet has found another excuse to make everything about Love Island. We love how @scaff17 uses this sound to make it relatable. Even if you can’t use the audio itself, you can still join the conversation through memes, reactions, hot takes, and references your audience will instantly understand. |
| 15 | Week of: June 1 | |
| 16 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 17 | Original audio aka the “My top ten” trend | People are using this trend to rank their top 10 favourites, and the possibilities are endless! We love how @rachmartino uses it to show her favourite makeup products, but brands can easily put their own spin on it. Think top 10 products, campaigns, books, coffee orders, tools, or even the social media trends your team can't stop talking about. |
| 18 | Original audio aka the “Clapping to the beat of the song” trend | If you're looking for an easy team trend, this is it. @backslashburger nails the format by having each person clap to the beat before transitioning to the next teammate. |
| 19 | Original audio aka the “drink reveal transition” trend | @jurika.juju makes this transition look delicious with a Thai food reveal, but the format works for almost anything. Products, office spaces, event setups, team members, or new launches all work well here. If you've got something worth revealing, this trend makes it feel a little more exciting. |
| 20 | TikToks: | |
| 21 | Original sound aka the “No, no, no, don’t do that” trend | We've been seeing this one both as a CapCut template and as a lip-sync trend. @springrollcentraluses it for a relatable relationship moment, but brands can easily adapt it for those situations that make you immediately panic. Think clients asking for one more revision, a surprise meeting invite, or an email arriving five minutes before you're about to log off. |
| 22 | Original sound aka the “Crashing out” trend | People are using this trend to share the things that have them on the verge of a crash out – like how @ellahperryy uses it for internal panic. For brands, this could be platform updates, algorithm changes, or explaining for the hundredth time why social media isn't free. |
| 23 | Original sound aka “Love Island season 8” trending audio | The new season of Love Island is here, which means the audio is starting to pop up everywhere. @elenaisabel__leans into the excitement around the new season, but you don't need to be creating Love Island content to use it. The sound works just as well as background audio for lifestyle content, team moments, or anything that taps into the excitement of a big cultural moment. |
| 24 | Week of: May 25 | |
| 25 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 26 | Original audio by Whitefieldtheatre, “Pause the video to see . . .” | "Pause the video to see if you should . . ." This trend is easily adaptable to any brand as the end of the sentence can be: "Book tickets to the show" (like what @whitefieldtheatre did), "Ask for that promotion", "Buy the bag", "Try a new hobby", and more. |
| 27 | Original audio by somewhere_thats_green | The perfect audio for two colleagues who are having a bit too much fun. This example by @confiacollective is accompanied by the caption "When the owner realizes that *these two* are on shift together." We've also seen the audio used with just the shenanigans. |
| 28 | Original audio by ccc_dramaclub (“Up, two, three, four, keep it up, two, three, four”) | This video trend is back! It involves a ladder, two taller people, and one smaller person in the middle. Caption it along the lines of "when you're small but trying to help anyway", similar to @wolfcoveinn. You could also flip the script and showcase products. For instance, if you're a clothing brand, you could put 2 longer dresses at the ends and one shorter one in the middle. |
| 29 | TikToks: | |
| 30 | Original sound by movieclips225 - My brother! Gru, Dru! | Despicable Me is trending! Specifically, the clip when Gru meets his new brother Dru. Just like the original movie clip, we often see this trend comparing hair with two people (like how @cami219835 did it). But you can also compare height, decor, and more! |
| 31 | Original sound by Taliyah Joelle, “I don’t feel so good . . .” | The, "We don't feel so good . . . I think we need a [insert anything]" trend. This example by @brooklynandbailey says "Graduate" but it can also be "New Pet", "Promotion", "Trip", "Family Reunion", and more. |
| 32 | Original sound by Aguwalkerduh, “Bad news for my wallet . . .” | "Bad news for my wallet. I hate . . ." This is a trend that really only requires a picture and something to end the sentence. In this example, the creator @amandalunamaria said they hate all of their clothes last summer. For your brand, it might be "cooking for myself", "doing my own blowouts", "making my own coffee", and more. |
| 33 | Week of: May 18 | |
| 34 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 35 | Original audio aka the “Just like I promised” trend | Realtors like @laura.a.royal are loving this trend right now, but it can definitely work outside that niche, too. The format tells the story of how hard something was before revealing that you still got it done just like you promised. |
| 36 | Original audio aka the “Generational age gap” trend | This trend is all about showing friendships or work besties with a big age gap, and @cityofmarionlibraries made it feel so wholesome! |
| 37 | Samuel Jack Feels Like Summer trending audio | With summer right around the corner people are getting excited about it. This audio works best for montages, speechless tutorials, or fun moments. I like how @tammyscookiecompanyused it to lowkey promote her two best sellers while also showing how she made them. |
| 38 | TikToks: | |
| 39 | Original sound aka the “Sorry I’m late it’s been such a crazy day” trend | This audio is mostly being used for before-and-after outfit transitions like @kimba1468 does, but there’s a lot of room to make it your own. Brands could easily turn this into a “work from home to office” transition, a campaign glow-up, or the emotional journey of opening 47 Slack notifications at 9 a.m. |
| 40 | Original sound aka the “How it feels when ____” trend | People are using this sound to dramatize painfully relatable moments. @b.flipz1 uses it to joke about being so busy at work he forgets to eat. You could easily turn this into “how it feels getting meme approval before the trend dies” or finally fixing a Canva issue after fighting for your life for an hour. |
| 41 | Original sound aka the “What are you doing?” trend | With the Off Campus series having a moment right now, creators like @leecius are using this audio for those “caught doing something you absolutely shouldn’t be doing” situations. The joke is usually someone panicking and immediately lying about what they’re up to. |
| 42 | Week of: May 11 | |
| 43 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 44 | 10 out of 10 trending audio | The best part about this trend is that you don’t even need to lip-sync. Most creators are just pairing the audio with B-roll of something they’re obsessed with – like how @grovehavenlife uses it alongside clips of a golden retriever puppy. For brands, this is a great opportunity to showcase a product, routine, food order, workspace, or anything your community would immediately want. |
| 45 | Original audio aka the “Seeing if the algorithm prefers…” trend | This trend is still going hot! The format is simple: “seeing if the algorithm prefers the video I spent ___ hours on or this quick clip of ___,” followed by something completely random like how @itslifewithp just stands for the camera doing nothing. |
| 46 | Original audio aka the “Spotted at the Korean baseball game” trend | Although this started as an AI trend, there are plenty of ways to recreate it without AI. @saimahhsk uses the trend to place herself at a baseball game, but brands could easily replicate the concept using Canva, Photoshop, a green screen, or even filming at a real stadium. |
| 47 | TikToks: | |
| 48 | Mexico Honey trending audio by Kacey Musgraves | Kacey Musgraves’ new album is officially having a moment, which means the audio is popping up all over TikTok and Instagram! @evarankiin uses it as background music for a product first impression video, but the sound works especially well for storytelling, lifestyle content, or soft “main character energy” moments. |
| 49 | Original sound aka the “my camera roll is full” trend | @mummy_and_themunirtwins uses this trend to show how quickly their twins have grown up through old camera roll clips. While it started as more of a parenting trend, brands could easily adapt it to show company growth, product evolution, or throwback moments from earlier stages of the business. |
| 50 | “Oh child” trending audio | This trend starts with three clips of you as a child before revealing who you are now in the fourth clip. @claraboucher4 does a great job using it to create an emotional contrast, and it’s a surprisingly effective way to bring more personality and humanity into your content — especially for personal brands or founders. |
| 51 | Week of: May 4 | |
| 52 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 53 | Original audio aka the “Seeing if the algorithm prefers____” trend | @tate.weaver shows just how easy this trend is to recreate by using simple clips of himself just standing still. The format pokes fun at the algorithm while doubling as a strong hook. Try this formula: “seeing if the algorithm prefers the video I spent ___ hours on or this quick clip of ___,” followed by something completely random. |
| 54 | Long Train Runnin’ Remix | This trending audio works for pretty much anything! @vickscelisuses it to take viewers along for a strawberry shortcake matcha run, but the sound works well for day-in-the-life content, mini adventures, or casual storytelling moments. |
| 55 | Dreams by The Cranberries | A softer, more low-key audio that works beautifully for subtle storytelling moments. I love how @_melissaloren_ties ties it into their photography business by showing expectations versus reality, but this could easily work for behind-the-scenes content or reflective moments too. |
| 56 | TikToks: | |
| 57 | Dan by Noah Kahan aka the “My best friend Dan” trend | Use this song to show who or what your “Dan” is. @ellisealou uses the trend to highlight their long-distance best friend, but your “Dan” could easily be a coworker, business partner, favourite tool, or even your office coffee machine. |
| 58 | Original sound aka the “What does that have to do with me?” trend | This trend is all about calling out something you spend a lot of money on. Take a look at how @mikaelarellano uses it to poke fun at overpriced lattes, but brands can easily adapt it to highlight the tools, habits, or subscriptions their community “invests” in. |
| 59 | “Hi gaga Hi Hi Hi Hi Hi Hi” trending audio | An easy, self-aware trend that pokes fun at your own habits. @k.orapt2 uses it to call out their most-used emoji, but it also works for overused phrases, team habits, or those little quirks your community would instantly relate to. |
| 60 | Week of: April 27 | |
| 61 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 62 | Original audio aka the “age gap” trend | Who doesn’t love an age gap trend! @shopstaxx uses this trend to highlight age differences in a light, funny way, making it feel natural and super relatable. This audio works especially well with coworkers and taps into generational differences in tools, habits, or perspectives your community will instantly recognize. |
| 63 | “RALLY FUNKED VYNXCIUZ” trending audio | This sound is super flexible and works for almost anything. @paulinaerdmann uses it to show different outfits, but it could easily be applied to day-in-the-life content or quick transformations. The key is matching the energy of the sound with fast, punchy cuts. |
| 64 | Original audio aka the "Do you want to _______" trend | This is such a cute trend and I love how @maddisoubry did it – plus it’s super easy to recreate! All you need is a question your team or community would instantly say yes to (think grabbing coffee, overspending, or gossiping about the same thing for the 100th time). |
| 65 | TikToks: | |
| 66 | Original sound aka the “No, you don’t get to ask me questions” trend | This trend is perfect for shutting down questions you don’t have the energy for. @fionafritz_uses it for a relatable life moment, but brands can easily adapt it for client asks, internal requests, or those “quick questions” that are never quick. |
| 67 | Original sound - Max aka the “And Emily?” trend | With The Devil Wears Prada 2 coming out soon, these lip syncs are everywhere. @witneycarsonofficial shows how to take an iconic line and twist it to fit your world. It works best when it reflects moments your team or community instantly recognizes. |
| 68 | Original sound aka the “You owe me money” trend | This trend is all about calling out someone who owes you money — whether that’s your job, a client, or something else entirely. @annabelfrometa uses it to highlight model debt, but for brands, it’s a fun way to tap into those “we deserve more for this” moments. |
| 69 | Week of: April 20 | |
| 70 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 71 | Original audio aka the “Bieber fever” trend | Bieberchella is still everywhere and brands are still finding ways to tap in. I love how @True.skin.esthetics_ ties “Bieber fever” into skincare; it’s clever without trying too hard. |
| 72 | Original audio aka the “what did you drive before?” trend | This is technically a car trend, but you can 100% steal the format. @maxfahr.08 shows their old bike vs their new car, but for brands, you can use this for glow-ups, old product vs new, first draft vs final, early days vs now, etc. |
| 73 | DRACULA x LAY ALL YOUR LOVE (ALTÉGO MIX) | This audio is stuck in my head. It’s dramatic, a little intense, and perfect for anything exciting or high-energy. @Empress1908gin uses it over cocktail ASMR which is such a vibe. But if your brand isn’t in the drink industry you could use it for launches, wins, or anything you want to feel a bit bigger. |
| 74 | TikToks: | |
| 75 | "SHE DID IT AGAIN (feat. Zara Larsson)" trending audio | This Tyla x Zara Larsson audio is starting to pop off, especially for dance-style content. @Varrelrieveraa uses it perfectly because that’s already their niche. But you don’t have to dance, instead you could use this audio for quick cuts, transitions, or showing off something confidently. |
| 76 | “Omigod nou” trend | Still going strong. This is a go-to for those tiny moments that ruin your entire mood. @jojoloranne uses it for spending money on things that aren’t fun . . . but for brands, you can flip it to work moments your audience relates to like last-minute edits, surprise meetings, posting anxiety, etc. |
| 77 | Originalton aka the "Everything hallelujah" trend | This is a super easy trend to hop onto! @Sarahltaylorrfilms one clip and lists things ending in “hallelujah.” You can use this for small wins or relatable SMM moments: “Caption approved… hallelujah. No feedback… hallelujah. Analytics look good… hallelujah.” |
| 78 | Week of: April 13 | |
| 79 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 80 | Original audio aka the “Gurl” trend | This audio is back! It’s being used for powerful moments. I like how @beckamack.author used it by having their publisher read a scene they wrote. For brands you can use it for proud moments like launches or someone hyping up what you created. |
| 81 | April trending audio | A piano song that works for gentle aesthetic moments. If you’re looking for a way to use this, take a look at how @wellnesswith.sophia did it! This audio works well for product shots, routines, or day in the life content too. |
| 82 | A Good Day Humming trending audio | This is one of those audios you can throw on anything and it just works. I’m seeing a lot of feel-good, slightly inspirational content with it. @Bon_nappetit leans into that uplifting vibe, which I think brands can absolutely tap into – think small wins, cozy moments, or community highlights. |
| 83 | TikToks: | |
| 84 | Som original aka the “Bieberchella” trend | Everyone’s using this audio right now because of the whole Bieber-at-Coachella moment. Influencer @tammyhembrow uses it to show a mood shift, but for brands, you can use it for launches, approvals, campaign wins. |
| 85 | Original sound aka the “My top 5 horror films” trend | This one’s funny because it doesn’t have to be about horror films. @paigescarlett_ ties it into the Bieber moment, but you can easily make it about your niche. I’d use this for “top 5 worst client emails,” “top 5 things that stress me out as an SMM,” or even product-related lists. |
| 86 | Original audio aka the "thank you, next” trend | This is your classic before-and-after / glow-up format. @_priss97 uses it for a personal transformation, but for brands, I’d use this to show evolution — old branding vs new, first draft vs final, or even “how it started vs how it’s going.” |
| 87 | Week of: April 6 | |
| 88 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 89 | Original audio aka the “I’m [name] and I’m replacing AI” trend | I’m seeing this everywhere right now, and I actually love it for community engagement. The idea is simple: reply to comments like you’re AI… but make it chaotic, unhelpful, or way too literal. @Linnetichelaarhorses using a horse to respond took me out. Just a heads up: if your product is AI-related, you might want to approach this one carefully. |
| 90 | Original audio aka the “feet don’t fail me now” trend | This is a super easy reel to make! Record your feet (or a pet) and add the text: “Me on my way to tell them what I really think about ____” @aussiedoodleru does it in the cutest way, but you can easily flip it for brand humour like clients, campaigns, internal thoughts, etc. |
| 91 | Soft Sun trending audio | If you just need a go-to aesthetic audio, I’d save this one. It works with anything. @minimal_by_hadda uses it to promote their facial treatments, but honestly, this is perfect for product shots, calming b-roll, or anything you want to feel soft and elevated. |
| 92 | TikToks: | |
| 93 | Son original aka the “to be or not to be, NOT” trend | This audio is perfect for those immediate switch-up moments. You’re about to do something and then instantly change your mind. @Masonblakee makes it super relatable with the “I’ll get my license . . . actually no” energy. For brands, I’d use this for those “we thought we were done… but one more edit” moments. |
| 94 | original sound aka the “you need professional help” trend | I’m seeing a lot of brands use this format when customers ask for something very specific . . . that they definitely don’t offer. @thedressstudio nails it in the prom space. If you’re a brand, this is such an easy way to poke fun at those out-of-pocket requests your team gets. |
| 95 | sonido original aka “drinking problem” | This one is popping up everywhere, and it’s super easy to adapt. Creators are using it to show their daily go-to drinks – like. @daniellegovan who does this really well with their daily coffees. If you’re a brand, I’d use it to highlight product variety or habits your audience relates to. Just keep it light — the joke is about routines, not making fun of actual drinking problems. |
| 96 | Week of: March 30 | |
| 97 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 98 | Original audio aka the “I think I am gonna die in this house” trend | Use it for exaggerated dread over everyday moments like tight deadlines, awkward meetings, or literally entering a basement as @tiararealestate did. It’s perfect for dramatizing everyday work moments, tight deadlines, or awkward situations that your audience will recognize immediately. |
| 99 | Original audio aka the “Me without happiness vs me with happiness” trend | One of the easiest formats to recreate! @brookemason shows coffee as their happiness, but you can swap in your product or solution to make it work for your brand. |
| 100 | Original audio aka the “Oh look Spring is here!” trend | This trend is SUPER easy to hop onto! With all the wild weather we’re getting – from snow, to rain, to snow again, to rain again – you could probably get your clips in the same day. @Myhorsefromibiza even found a way to jump onto this trend while involving their horse! |
| 101 | TikToks: | |
| 102 | Original sound aka the “Ok cuz 212 dance” | Creators are remixing the “Oh ok cuz…” text format with the 212 dance, usually by turning brand names into punchlines. @gabysozaa nails it with: “Oh ok cuz star took our bucks again.” You could also DIY this by singing it or referencing 212 in captions/visuals. |
| 103 | Original sound - Movieclips aka the “I got the magic in me” trend | This is still trending! For brands, this is an easy way to highlight product benefits or that moment you realized your community really needed what you offer – like how @socialsouthmayd highlights that feeling when the post does well! |
| 104 | Following The Sun (Whistle Version) | This audio is pretty universal and is honestly perfect for education or tutorials like @dittobughairshowing their community a better way to remove hair elastics. |
| 105 | Week of: March 23 | |
| 106 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 107 | Venus and Flower | This is a very universal audio that you can use! It’s very dreamy and springtime-like. @Mathias.koch_uses it to subtly promote their travel content while layering in soft ASMR. It’s a great option if you want something aesthetic that still feels calm and natural. |
| 108 | The Best of Both Worlds | With the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana in full swing this audio is everywhere! @healthy_cheers uses it in a really thoughtful way to show their double life as both an athlete and someone living with Multiple Sclerosis. Brands can use this to highlight the contrast between online vs. offline life, or to share different sides of their story. |
| 109 | Original audio aka the “What’s your favourite place?” trend | This audio is back again! I don’t know about you but it always make me tear up. Creators like @_vonstanley are using it to showcase meaningful locations, like their Zumba studio, but it works just as well for travel content, local businesses, or anywhere that feels like “home” to your community. |
| 110 | TikToks: | |
| 111 | original sound - Movieclips aka the “ahh moment” trend | This trending audio works for business accounts! Creators are using it for those realization moments – @Mr_mayonnaise_joking about when he realized he could be snarky back to the kids he teaches. For brands, this is a simple way to highlight a turning point, a product insight, or a moment you realized what your audience really needed. |
| 112 | original sound aka the “I don’t speak Carabbisian” trend | A great audio to poke fun at yourself or your brand! @Anaisshepherd uses it to joke about her lack of social skills. For brands, it’s a great way to call out confusing industry jargon or laugh at your own niche in a way that feels human. |
| 113 | Something Just Like This aka the “Reading books of old” trend | This trend is really simple to recreate! You just need a book and a bit of simple editing. I like how @andyw1267 jumps on this trend with a book that reads “WHY IS MY DAUGHTER ALWAYS RIGHT”. It’s playful, relatable, and easy to adapt by swapping in a title that reflects your audience’s inside jokes or everyday frustrations. |
| 114 | Week of: March 16 | |
| 115 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 116 | Original audio aka the “Why you so obsessed with me?” trend | This one is everywhere right now, and brands like @PapaJohnsare already jumping on it. The idea: you do something loud or chaotic to get people to look at you, then immediately pose like you did nothing – so it looks like they’re staring because they’re obsessed with you. |
| 117 | Original audio aka “One day in your 30s someone will____” trend | This trend is back!! And people are using it to reflect on moments that shaped their lives (usually something they’re glad they said yes to). Brands can definitely jump onboard with this too! Look at how @wsetglobal uses it to tie into Global Drink Wine Day and their wine courses. It’s a nice way for brands to highlight milestones, career moments, or customer success stories. |
| 118 | Original audio | This soft, upbeat audio is still going strong. It works as a universal background track. @nyonairuses it over a bird’s-eye view of NYC to subtly promote their helicopter experience – but you can easily adapt it for product shots, day-in-the-life content, or simple aesthetic b-roll. |
| 119 | TikToks: | |
| 120 | Do the sea lion | This challenge is completely random and I love it. It involves pretending to be a sea lion and committing to the bit. @Officialnickkosir goes all in with a full suit, which makes it even funnier. Not every brand will want to do this one – but if your team is comfortable being a little unhinged on camera, it’s a fun one to do! |
| 121 | original sound aka the “Yes, my heart will always be with the _____” | Creators are using this to shout out the people, places, or passions they’ll always love—friends, sports teams, hometowns, or even their jobs. @sophia_vanname uses it with her volleyball teammates. For brands, this is a nice way to highlight your community, customers, or the mission behind your work. |
| 122 | Blind spots | This audio is being used for emotional tributes and remembrance posts, often for loved ones or pets who have passed. @lillyofthevall3y1 uses it for a touching tribute to their dog Maxie. It’s not a fit for every brand, but for the right story, it can be a very meaningful and human piece of content. |
| 123 | Week of: March 9 | |

| 125 | Original audio aka the Allergy season trend | This trend was floating around a few weeks ago, but honestly it’s perfect timing with spring coming up. The format is usually “POV: it’s allergy season but you’re a ___.” I love how @jaci_tidmarsh_realtor adapts it for real estate by sneezing out keys. |
| 126 | Original audio | This is one of those SUPER versatile audios you can use for almost anything. You can showcase products like @spiritnectar does, layer it over b-roll footage, or even build a skit around it. If you’re ever stuck on what audio to use, this type of flexible sound is always a safe bet. |
| 127 | Iris - The Goo Goo Dolls | Okay this trend is SUPER cute! People are asking their parents “Mom/Dad, what were you like in the 90s?” and pairing it with old photos. Some creators are even doing it with their pets.@mariolopez absolutely nails it with nostalgic throwbacks. For brands, this could easily become a “throwback” moment or a look back at your company’s early days. |
| 128 | TikToks: | |
| 129 | American Girls - Harry Styles | Harry Styles’ new album is trending (of course), and this track is starting to pop up everywhere. Since business accounts can’t use his music directly, keep an eye on how creators adapt it. For example, @swerabsmith3 flips the concept with “Manila girl.” Watching how creators remix trends like this can help you find a brand-friendly version. |
| 130 | Ring My Bell - Anita Ward | This song is trending because of a theory floating around TikTok that it brings abundance. Creator @444angelprincess even mentions that the song is supposedly banned in casinos, which adds to the mystique. While business accounts can’t use the audio, you could still reference the trend in captions or visuals if it fits your content. |
| 131 | Original sound - Royal Ballet and Opera | Timothée Chalamet’s opera ballet comment is going absolutely viral. Creators are using it to talk about protecting and appreciating the things they love. @ashlynvfoster uses it to highlight people fighting to keep meaningful spaces and traditions alive. It’s a thoughtful trend that works well for storytelling content. |
| 132 | Week of: March 2 | |
| 133 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 134 | Original audio aka the “girl this is awesome” trend | This trend is really empowering. Women are using it to highlight how they’re the first in their family to do something — whether that’s starting a business, running a marathon, or building a career. I love @georgieebullock example where she celebrates being the first in her bloodline to run a marathon. |
| 135 | 360 (Arr. For Cello Obligato and String Quartet) aka Bridgerton season 4 | With the latest season of Bridgerton, this orchestral audio is everywhere right now. While the vibe feels very regal, you don’t actually need a ballroom to use it. @thechalkspot uses the sound to showcase their personalized luxury gifts, proving that businesses can absolutely adapt this trend. |
| 136 | Spring is Coming | I might be biased as a Canadian, but I’m already pretending it’s spring. This sound has that hopeful, fresh energy that works for travel, lifestyle, and seasonal content. I like how @travelwithtrishaa uses it to preview what Seattle looks like in the spring — it’s the perfect “warmer days are coming” vibe. |
| 137 | TikToks: | |
| 138 | Azealia Banks . 212 instrumental aka the “On my way to _____ trend” | Back again, and still sooo adaptable. For brands, you can tie it directly to your community. I like how @krost.y does it with relatable angle. For brands, you can easily tie this to your community — think “on my way to get my 5th coffee after spending 2 hours choosing an audio.” |
| 139 | sonido original aka the “happy frolicking trend” | This little dance is giving Disney main character energy. @Alexdwong takes it to the next level by frolicking in a literal blizzard, which makes the video even funnier. |
| 140 | Originalton - Iron Mindset aka the “do you actually want to do this at all? trend” | This sound captures that moment when you gently question whether someone is actually committed to the plan. @soccergirl.fc uses it to highlight a very relatable soccer moment, but the format works for pretty much any niche — friends making plans, coworkers suggesting ideas, clients wanting to “try something bold,” etc. |
| 141 | Week of: Feb. 23 | |
| 142 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 143 | Original audio aka the “I’m not playing on my phone” trend | If you’re a social media manager, this is your moment. I’m obsessed with the way @simplemills uses this sound! They literally show what it looks like to be a social media manager (filming, editing, checking things, etc.) and it perfectly matches the audio. |
| 144 | Life Feels So Good | This audio can be paired with anything to be honest! If you need some inspo, @mothediva does a great job tying in upcoming Spring season and the products she’s promoting. |
| 145 | Original audio aka “JoJo - Leave (Get Out)” trend | Another trending audio that works for pretty much anything! @revivebymorgan uses this sound in such a clever way. The setup pulls you in “If this is your partner’s initial, they pay for your next hair appointment” and then the reveal is the entire alphabet. I want to get my hair done by them now don’t you? |
| 146 | TikToks: | |
| 147 | Original sound ⋆˚𝜗 dixie 𝜚˚⋆ aka the “group transition” trend | I’m seeing this transition everywhere right now — usually in groups. When the beat drops, the outfits change… or the friends are suddenly replaced with partners or parents. I like the way @bear.secrettt does it with their women’s basketball team. |
| 148 | Someone new - Arden Jones | This song has been consistently trending, and it works for business accounts too! I really like how @coastalgirlco uses this audio. Instead of just layering it over random footage, they pair it with text that feels aspirational. If you’re using this as a brand, I’d follow that lead: pair it with messaging that builds anticipation for something coming up (a launch, a season change, a trip, a glow-up). |
| 149 | original sound aka the “I’m the perfect mix of” trend | This is such a great self love trend. I personally love the way @user682326219 does it. They don’t overcomplicate it, they show different moments from their life that reflect each side of the “mix.” |
| 150 | Week of: Feb. 16 | |
| 151 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 152 | Original audio aka the “I thought I was free” trend | Back and better than ever! This audio is perfect for those moments when you think you’re done… but surprise, you’re not. Check out how @slatesocialmgmt shows trying to log off while her brain keeps throwing new ideas at her. Works great for work-from-home struggles, side projects, or any “just one more thing” moment. |
| 153 | Original audio aka “the sound I hear” trend | Not gonna lie, I thought my phone was broken when I first heard this. Creators are using it to show things that make them hear static; like@stonytcg highlighting the disbelief they get when someone says they are wasting their money on Pokemon cards. This is a really versatile one for brands, products, or even those “don’t listen to the haters” moments. |
| 154 | Original audio aka the “what’s your favourite place?” trend | Get your tissues ready. This trending audio is so wholesome! Creators like @thecitycanines are using it to share their favourite place, and for them, it just happens to be with their dogs. It’s such a sweet way to show what matters most to you, your team, or even your business! |
| 155 | TikToks: | |
| 156 | original sound aka the “get them banned trend” | This trend is ridiculously easy to hop on! People are using it to call out behaviours that should be banned immediately. I personally love the way @corporatenatalie pokes fun at new hires who suggest turning on their cameras. |
| 157 | original sound aka the “cold outside” trend | This one is super easy to do. @laurengodwin shows her love of McDonald’s by just balancing it on her head — that’s literally it. For product brands, this is such an easy hook, especially if your packaging is bold or instantly recognizable. |
| 158 | Clap if you’re against it trend | @jessvalortiznails this one by soft-launching the idea of staying in rather than going out with friends. It’s such a fun, easy way to signal you’re not into something — or just want to share your personal stance — without being too heavy-handed. |
| 159 | Week of: Feb. 9 | |
| 160 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 161 | Original audio aka “Bad Bunny Homeland dreams” | Everything Bad Bunny is trending right now.@tanishka.in.toronto uses it to show their journey going from India to Canada. It’s such an inspiring way to tell your story. If you’ve got a transformation, milestone, or “this is how it started vs. how it’s going” moment, this audio is perfect. |
| 162 | Original audio aka the “that’s the way I like it” trend | This audio is still going strong. I love how @shop.with.caroline uses it to show there’s no such thing as too much jewelry — and the transition on the beat? So satisfying. This works beautifully for product stacking, outfit changes, feature reveals, or anything with a strong visual payoff timed to the music. |
| 163 | FEVER DREAM by Alex Warren | Alex Warren is trending hard right now — and as of writing this, he’s holding the #1 spot on Instagram and in my brain.@kristins_backyard uses this audio to show horses jumping perfectly on beat, and it’s such a good example of how versatile this sound is. You can use it for transitions, action shots, glow-ups, or even dramatic product reveals. |
| 164 | TikToks: | |
| 165 | pink x get down on it aka the “you're so hard to please" trend | Creators are using this audio to show the little things that make them happy: coffee, books, cozy mornings, their products, small rituals. I love how @mariehilbertt flips it to show they’re actually not hard to please at all — just give them a coffee or matcha and they’re golden. |
| 166 | original sound aka the "Z as in the letter Z” trend | This trend plays on the phonetic alphabet — and the very real experience of suddenly forgetting something basic when you’re put on the spot at your big person job. The confidence of this trend is what makes it so funny. I love how @wellah.nutrition uses it in a workplace setting — it shows that brands can hop on without overthinking it. |
| 167 | original sound aka the "Call my sister" trend | I love how simple this one is. All you have to do is add text that fits the audio. If you don’t have a sister, that’s fine — make it work for your world. @invisibleaf ses it for a relatable moment about their husband hearing everything that’s going on. |
| 168 | Week of: Feb. 2 | |
| 169 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 170 | Original audio aka the “BOP IT” trend | What started as a pet trend has officially made its way to brands — and I’m sooo obsessed with how creative people are getting. I love the way @bubble uses it to spotlight their products. |
| 171 | Give Me Everything (Stripped Down) | Bridgerton is trending and so are elegant, cinematic product moments. @susiecakesbakery uses this audio to show off one of their cakes in a satisfying timelapse, but this works just as well for process videos, transformations, or slow, aesthetic reveals. |
| 172 | Bridgerton (Music From The Netflix Original Series) | Another Bridgerton sound that brands are loving. I love the way that @gizzysblogshows how to use it by highlighting @cocomelt.london’s products – proving you don’t need a ballroom or ballgown to make this trend work. Great for elevated product shots, lifestyle clips, or soft-launch moments. |
| 173 | TikToks: | |
| 174 | původní zvuk aka “you make it easy to fall in love” | This sound is perfect for highlighting something that’s genuinely easy to love. I love how @ebvlaiza01 uses it to show just how obsessed they are with their dog, but it works just as well for brand wins, client shoutouts, or those this is why I love my job moments. |
| 175 | Original sound aka the “shut up mom” trend | This sound is being used when someone confidently corrects you. . . and is very wrong. @halle.grace.s uses it to show a sibling correction gone wrong, but SMMs can easily adapt it for “When someone who’s never worked in social explains the algorithm” or “When a client says ‘can we just go viral?’” |
| 176 | Original sound aka the “I thought I was free” trend | This audio is for anyone who thinks they’re done for the day… and then a call, meeting, or “quick question” pops up. @notsoshu nails it by showing the classic I explained everything in the email moment, only to be pulled into a call anyway. |
| 177 | Week of: Jan. 26 | |
| 178 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 179 | Original audio aka the “Mood ruined” sound | This sound hits because it’s painfully relatable. Use it to call out those small comments or moments that instantly flip your mood — especially the ones SMMs hear all the time. @jordy_jenkinzzz pairs it with the text “Posting on social media is such an easy job,” perfectly capturing that internal scream we all know too well. |
| 180 | Original audio aka the “Universe signs” trend | This sound is popping off right now. Creators are using it with on-screen text like “I asked the universe to give me a sign,” followed by a visual reveal. @joeandthejuiceuae ses clouds shaped like a coffee as their “sign,” but this works just as well for products, moments, or inside jokes. |
| 181 | Original audio aka the “everyone makes mistakes” trend | A great audio for reframing rejection with confidence. @hoschtoncoffeeco uses it to say, “Not everyone is going to buy a coffee from us today, and that’s fine,” before ending with a montage of their work and the text “everyone makes mistakes.” |
| 182 | TikToks: | |
| 183 | Original sound aka the “Sorry, I don’t know” trend | This sound is incredibly easy to apply to any industry. Use it for those moments when you do know the answer. . . but don’t want to say so. @michael.hartman nails the vibe with a cheeky take that’s perfect for light workplace humour. |
| 184 | son original aka the “Red Bull, please contact me” trend | Pair the audio with a very beginner or unimpressive move for maximum comedic effect. It’s unserious, self-aware, and ideal for brands that don’t take themselves too seriously. @rudyperrin does it perfectly by showing a beginner ski move. |
| 185 | Original sound aka the “Faithful, unsure, traitor" trend | Perfect for team or group content. Use this audio to “decide” who’s safe to gossip with at work, what caused your breakout, or who belongs on your private story. @carminawooddesign uses it to reveal who at work can actually be trusted. |
| 186 | ||
| 187 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 188 | Original audio - in 1996 | This trend highlights the contrast between your calm, professional exterior and what’s actually playing in your headphones. Think: corporate workday meets unhinged audio choice. @misslynne8 nails the balance by showing what she’s listening to while working. |
| 189 | Roses (feat. ROZES) | Not only is 2016 trending — the music is too. Creators are using this audio to show where they were then versus where they are now. It’s a great option for brands reflecting on growth or milestones. @madsincharleston uses it to showcase her life now and how much has changed (for the better). |
| 190 | Original audio - I went from this to this | Perfect for process posts. Use it to show before-and-after moments, product journeys, or behind-the-scenes transformations. @thecolorinpink uses it to show a crochet bag before it’s made and the final product. |
| 191 | TikToks: | |
| 192 | “Kim K said it not us” trend | This audio is making the rounds in SMM circles for a reason. It’s perfect for defending why social media actually matters, calling out outdated takes, or backing yourself up when people don’t get your job. @thesocialpresenceltd uses it to promote their social media agency. |
| 193 | Someone new - Arden Jones | Soft, reflective, and very heartfelt. This audio works well for sharing moments that reconnect you with your spark — whether that’s creativity, community, or why you love what you do. @gucciii.flipflops uses it to show how their real personality comes out when visiting their long-distance best friend. |
| 194 | Original audio - That’s the way I like it | This one flips “undesirable” traits into proud moments. Add on-screen text calling out something people side-eye… that you secretly (or not so secretly) love. When the beat drops, transition or tap the surface in front of you. @mrs.erinteaches uses it to highlight the underrated perks of being a teacher, but the format works for any niche. |
| 195 | Week of: Jan. 12 | |
| 196 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 197 | Bruno Mars I Just Might | Bruno Mars is back, and this one’s already everywhere. Creator @carolinelunne syncs outfit changes perfectly to the beat, making it fun and easy to watch. Brands can use this format to showcase products in quick clips, highlight different looks, or even match the vibe to “today’s energy.” |
| 198 | Original audio - mood ruined | You’ve definitely heard this one by now. It’s perfect for calling out those small (or big) moments that instantly kill the vibe. Creator @artbyvidhya uses it with the text “Can you do it for free?” paired with clips that capture the internal scream every creative knows too well. |
| 199 | Never Be Like You (feat. Kai) | This audio works beautifully for storytelling. Creator @blancandcocontent uses it to reframe rejection in a confident way – starting with “Not everyone is going to book us for their wedding and that’s totally okay…” and ending with a montage of their work and the text “everyone makes mistakes.” It’s a great option for showing confidence, growth, and quiet flex energy. |
| 200 | TikToks: | |
| 201 | "Come on, you have to believe me" video trend | This Stranger Things audio is popping up everywhere. It’s perfect for sharing something about you or your job that people never take seriously. Creator @lilypachilly1 uses it to joke about how her stomach is always hurting — and how saying it so often has made no one believe her anymore. Relatable and funny in the best way. |
| 202 | "Can I interest you in something called me?" | A playful way to put yourself (or your brand) front and centre. This format works really well for calling out what you do, what you offer, or why you’re different — without feeling salesy. @socialdesignagency uses it to highlight their social media services with confidence and humor. |
| 203 | “That's not what the fans wanna see" | This one’s all about knowing your audience. Use it to poke fun at the content your community definitely doesn’t want — like being overly polished in a space meant for chaos or sounding corporate where personality wins. @sabinabeandip nails it by joking about people who use their spam accounts for aesthetic posts… which, respectfully, is not what the fans came for. |
| 204 | Week of: Jan. 5 | |
| 205 | Instagram Reels: | |
| 206 | Atlantis (Sped Up Version) | This audio is super easy to use! Just grab the last video in your camera roll and post. Creator @thatgirl.latika uses it to show her outfit, but it works just as well for daily moments, behind-the-scenes clips, or anything that feels casually you. |
| 207 | January (Instrumental) | This one leans reflective and motivating. Creators are using it to set intentions, share inspiration, and encourage a “new year, new energy” mindset. @devin.the.one pairs it with a reminder that showing up with intent can help you find a way forward. |
| 208 | Okayyy We Back | A playful bait-and-switch audio. Creator @gbclark starts with “omw to therapy” before revealing a trip to the hair salon. Use it to spotlight anything that feels therapeutic in your world (bookstores, travel, creative time, or yes, even your product.product, etc.) |
| 209 | TikToks: | |
| 210 | Sugarcoated Sisters | Made for highlighting differences. This one works beautifully for team dynamics, client types, product tiers, or the many versions of you at work. Creator @tillydent_ uses it to spotlight three sisters and their family roles — but the format is endlessly adaptable. |
| 211 | original sound - Rebel Aromas | This audio perfectly captures that first week back energy when motivation hasn’t quite loaded yet. Use it to joke about post-vacay blues, inbox overload, or easing back into routine. Creator @Operexx nails it with their “POV: everyone going back into work on Jan 5” take. |
| 212 | オリジナル楽曲 - 🕺🏼Hoodie fam🌏 | Simple, playful, and everywhere right now. Film a quick bird’s-eye bounce over a pet, baby, coworker, or product and you’re good to go. It’s low-effort and instantly scroll-stopping. @noahnellys’ video featuring their baby sister is a great example — and yes, pets work just as well. |

Original audio aka the “what if we just” trend

Original audio aka the “let’s do it” trend
@flourandspiceblog uses this trending audio perfectly by pairing it with a recipe she’s creating. This sound is great for showing a process, a new idea, or something you’re excited to make happen. Brands can use it for launches, new products, experiments, or those “okay, we’re finally doing this” moments.

Original audio aka the “Describe your job, but make it sound illegal” trend
We are still LOVING this trend.

How to find trending sounds
Whether you’re looking to save TikTok audio or find trending sounds on IG, there are a few options. Most methods will require some research and scrolling on your part.
Or you can let us do the work for you and bookmark this trending TikTok and Instagram audio download guide. We update this blog every Friday, so you always have the latest trends on hand!
In case you’d rather do your own research, we’ve also summarized how to find trending audio and trending topics on TikTok and Instagram below.
How to find trending Instagram audio
Here are 5 ways to see what’s trending on Instagram audio:
1. Scroll through Instagram Reels
One of the easiest ways to search for trending Instagram sounds is by scrolling through Reels. Simply tap the Reels tab and scroll to spark inspiration. If a Reel is trending, it’ll have a little arrow in the bottom left corner next to the artist and song name.
Look for the arrow at the bottom of an Instagram Reel to see if it uses a trending sound.
Scrolling Reels on your business’s Instagram account will show content more related to your brand. This will give you a good idea of what’s trending in your space.
When you find a Reel with audio you want to use, tap on the track name in the bottom left corner. This will take you to the audio page where you can see how often the sound has been used, where it originated, and a list of Reels that have used the trending audio. From there you can save the sound to use later or tap “Use audio” to film a new Reel.
2. Search on Instagram
To find inspiration outside of what Instagram’s algorithm shows in your Feed, use the platform’s search function. Search terms like “trending music” or “trending audio” will show a variety of content using trending Reels audio.
If you have a specific idea for a video, try using related search terms. For example, if you plan to post a video of your latest company team-building event, search for “team building” or “company events.” Results should show Reels related to your content. Then simply scroll results to find a sound you want to use.
Search for "trending audio" or your topic of choice on Instagram.
3. Follow @creators on Instagram
Another easy way to find trending Reel sounds is by following Instagram’s “@creators” account. This is a valuable page for social media managers. Much like HeyOrca’s Instagram page, Instagram’s “@creators” shares tips and tricks for growing on Instagram, info about the algorithm, and trending content updates.
Each week, this page posts a report of the top trending Instagram Reels audio. It’s a great way to see what’s relevant, straight from the platform itself.
The audio section of a weekly Trend Report from Instagram’s @creators account.
4. Instagram’s trending audio list
This method may not be available for everyone. When it was first released, this feature was only available for professional Instagram accounts in the U.S. via the mobile app.
To check if you have this feature, go to your IG profile and tap “Professional dashboard.” Scroll to “Tips and resources,” and then tap “Trending audio.” This will give you a list of 50 trending audios on Instagram. Scroll through each sound and see what sparks inspiration!
5. Follow other accounts that share Instagram trends
In addition to Instagram’s “@creators” account, there are other pages you can follow that post trends on the platform. For example, “early.trending.audio” is an account that regularly shares IG trending audio.
The account “@early.trending.audio” shares trending sounds before they go too viral, so you can hop on a trend early.
How to find trending sounds on TikTok
Next in our TikTok and Instagram audio download guide are tips on how to find trending sounds on TikTok. Here are 5 ways to discover TikTok audio trends:
1. Scroll your For You page
One of the easiest ways to find TikTok trending audio is by scrolling through your For You page. Remember, results on this page are different for everyone since they’re based on your account activity. As you scroll, you may notice multiple TikToks using the same sound or labelled “Popular.” This is a good sign it’s trending.
If you find an audio you like, you have two options to save it:
- Save the video and create a Collection for “Sounds” or “Trending audio.” This way you have a visual library of saved sounds and examples of them being used
- Or you can tap on the track name in the bottom right corner and then tap “Add to favourites.” This will add the audio to your saved sounds, which you can add to future posts.
Click "Save video" to save the TikTok video, or click on the sound and select "Add to Favorites" to save the sound.
2. Search on TikTok
You can also search for trending audio on TikTok. TikTok is becoming a pretty powerful search engine. In the search tool, enter terms like “trending audio”, “popular songs”, or “viral sounds” and then tap the “Sounds” tab. This will give you a list of TikTok audio and how often each has been used. Sounds labelled “Popular” are likely trending.
Search for "trending sounds" on TikTok.
3. Check TikTok’s Creative Center
Along with other tips and tricks, TikTok’s Creative Center has a trending section where you can find popular sounds, hashtags, videos, and more. To access the resources, simply create an account or sign into your TikTok.
The trending sounds tab has a list of popular audio on TikTok. Users can filter results based on timeline, region, and whether the sound is approved for business use. The Creative Centre also has a search function and each sound includes a graph showing how it’s been trending.
4. Browse TikTok’s suggested playlists
TikTok also has a library of audio playlists you can look through to find trending sounds. To access it, tap the “+” button when creating a new video. Then tap “Add sound” and scroll to the “Playlists” section. Playlists like “TikTok Viral” and “Featured” are the best ones to look through for TikTok trending sounds.
Similar to your For You page, TikTok’s sound library is customized for each user. So, your suggestions will be based on your account activity and location.
5. Follow TikTok creators who share trending sounds
To keep up with trending sounds, you can also follow creators on TikTok who regularly share trending songs and other audio. Some examples include im_mmxvii, trihoof, influicity, and discoverly.ai.
How to use trending audio on Instagram and TikTok
Next in our trending TikTok and Instagram audio download guide is how to use the latest sounds. Once you’ve found the perfect trending audio for your brand, you have two options:
- Save the audio on TikTok or Instagram and add it to a video on the platform
- Or download audio from Instagram or TikTok and use a video editor to incorporate it into your content.
How to save audio on Instagram and TikTok
Saving audio on Instagram and TikTok is pretty simple. When you find a video with audio you want to use, tap on the track name. This will take you to the audio page. To save the sound on Instagram, tap the save icon. On TikTok, tap “Add to Favourites.” You could also tap “Use sound” on this page to create a Reel or TikTok with the audio right away.
Using saved audio on Instagram and TikTok
When you post your next Reel or TikTok, you’ll have access to a list of your saved audio. After tapping the “+” icon and uploading your content, tap “Add sound,” and then tap “Saved” on Instagram or “Favourites” on TikTok. This will show a list of all the audio you’ve saved. Select the one you want and add it to your content.
You can also access a list of your saved sounds from your IG or TikTok profile. On your Instagram profile, tap the icon with three horizontal lines at the top right corner of your screen, then tap “Saved,” and “Audio.” On your TikTok profile, tap the bookmarks icon and then “Sounds” to see your favourites.
As you scroll through your list of saved audio, tap on the one you want to use. This will take you to the audio page, where you can tap “Use audio” to create a new Reel or TikTok with the trending sound.
How to download audio from TikTok and Instagram
While there’s technically no option to download audio from TikTok or Instagram, there are a few workarounds. While saving audio and using it directly on a platform is a little simpler, extracting audio and working with it in a video editor like CapCut allows for more customization. (If you’re looking for trending CapCut templates, we’ve got you covered there too!)
To download TikTok audio or trending audio on Instagram, here are some options:
1. Download a story draft on Instagram
This method is best for shorter audio clips since it’ll only download the first 15 seconds of a Reel. Once you find a Reel with trending audio you want to use, tap the share icon and “Add to story.” Next, tap the “...” icon in the top right corner of the story draft and tap “Save” to download the video to your phone.
From there, you’ll want to share the file to your computer so you can upload it to your go-to video editor and work with the audio.
2. Download a TikTok
Note that this technique will only work for content with video download permissions enabled (videos with this disabled won’t have a “Save video” option).
On a TikTok video, tap the “Share” icon and then “Save video.” This will download the video directly to your phone, so you can upload it to your computer and video editor to extract the sound and create stellar content.
3. Screen record a Reel or TikTok
A major benefit of this option is it allows you to control the section and length of the clip you record. Find a Reel or TikTok with a trending sound you want to use and then start your phone’s screen recorder. Let the Reel or TikTok play all the way through and then stop your screen recorder. The recording will be saved directly to your phone.
As with other options, you can upload the recording to your computer and then a video editor to create your content.
4. Use a third-party audio downloader
Be cautious when using this method. We’re hesitant to recommend a specific third-party software, but a quick Google search will show a few options. Choose one that ranks high in search results and click on the page with caution to avoid clickbait ads.
To use this method, you’ll need a link to the Reel or TikTok you want to use. On a video, tap “Share” and then “Copy link.” From there, you can paste the video link into an online audio extractor to download the trending audio to your phone. Upload the file to a video editor and customize your content as you wish!
Orca tip:
A benefit of using trending audio on Instagram and TikTok is having your content appear on the sound’s page. However, if you choose one of the TikTok or Instagram audio download methods above to create your video, you could lose this benefit.
Downloading sounds allows you to customize content in a video editor. However, once your video is finalized and you post it, Instagram or TikTok won’t be able to tell that it’s using trending audio. So, your video will likely be labelled as having “original audio.” Luckily, there are ways around this!
Essentially, you have to re-add the audio to your video to show Instagram or TikTok that you’re using a viral sound. This can be done in a few simple steps:
- Tap the “+” icon to create a new post and upload the video you created.
- Tap “Audio” and search for the audio you used in your Reel or TikTok. Select it and try to match the audio in your video to the trending sound.
- Tap “Done,” “Next,” the music icon, and then “Controls.” You should see two volume control bars onscreen. Lower the volume of the trending sound to 1% and raise your video’s audio (or “Camera audio”) to 100%. (Note: Don’t lower the volume of the trending sound to 0%, as Instagram and TikTok won’t recognize that it’s playing).
- Then you should be ready to add any finishing touches and post your video!
This trick ensures viewers will hear the audio on the video you worked hard to customize, shows Instagram and TikTok you’re using a trending sound, and helps your content appear on the audio’s page.
In case it’s helpful, here’s a how-to video of this tip. The creator in this video chose to use an audio extractor, but the same steps can be followed regardless of how you choose to download your audio!

Can brands use trending audio?
Brands can use some trending audio; however, if you have a business account on Instagram or TikTok, you won’t have access to copyrighted material. This includes popular songs by big artists like Taylor Swift. Some accounts create remixes though, which brands can typically use.
Social platforms are really good at flagging content that improperly uses copyrighted material. So, it’s important that your brand only uses copyright-free sounds. (There’s also a completely different set of rules for social media ads.)
Trending audio in this TikTok and Instagram audio download guide can all be used by brands for organic social media posts. We have you covered!
Why can’t business accounts use trending audio?
While business accounts can use some trending sounds, they can’t use copyrighted audio. This protects an artist’s intellectual property and avoids giving the appearance of partnerships that don’t exist.
Is it better to use trending audio?
There are many benefits to using popular Instagram Reel songs and trending TikTok sounds:
- Instagram and TikTok algorithms favour content with trending audio, so your TikTok or Reel can be seen by more people.
- Content with trending sounds also appears on the audio’s page, which can increase views and reach.
- Generally, a sound starts trending because people enjoy it, so using popular audio can increase engagement.
- There’s also a higher chance of going viral with trending content.
Given these possible benefits, using trending audio seems to be a smart move.

Pro tips for Reel and TikTok audio trends
While using trending social media audio has certain advantages, it doesn’t guarantee results. As a smart social media manager, you know a popular soundtrack won’t save bad content. You still have to post consistently and your content must align with a strategy. Here are some final tips for using trending sounds:
- Develop a personalized spin. Instead of just repeating what everyone else is doing, stand out by making the trending audio your own.
- Choose sounds aligned with your brand. You don’t have to use every popular sound on social media to see great results, just because an audio is trending, doesn’t mean it’s right for your brand. Consider your brand voice when selecting sounds.
- Consistently create quality content. Don’t rely on social media trends to produce results for you. It’s still important to create quality content, post consistently, and engage with your audience.
- Consider copyright. Also, it’s of course important to only use copyright-free audio, so your content or page isn’t penalized.
